Admissions Process
Every student should overcome barriers to learning and achieve their true potential. Willows Rise School vision is to provide students with the skills and strategies to be able to access education in its widest sense.
Applications
Stage 1: Local Authorities (LA) usually apply for a place at Willows Rise School, providing comprehensive information about the student. Senior staff assess if the student meets the school’s admission criteria, and if so, the family is invited to visit.
Stage 2: Visits include discussions with the family and student about their challenges, hopes, and outcomes for the school placement, a tour, introduction to key staff, and information about the school curriculum and policies.
Stage 3: If all parties agree that the student’s needs can be met and the family is committed, the school will offer a place to the LA and make admission arrangements.
Stage 4: A carefully planned transition, possibly starting gradually, will lead to full-time admission.
